Project Details
Before expanding the scope of my art and design career by pursuing film and television, my first foray into the world of animation was through motion graphics. By learning various tools (i.e. After Effects, Premiere) and techniques (i.e. Kinetic Typography, Blend Shapes, Stop Motion), I was able to take begin the process of applying my art and design principles to images that were no longer static. Below are some examples of the motion work that I've done.
Alcaverse
Alcaverse is a fictional sci-fi television series. This title sequence concept uses a
modified geometric typeface that alludes to planetary diagrams, alien languages and technical
drawings of advanced technology. The gradual reveal and lighting effects evoke the feeling and
aesthetics of outer space. It takes inspiration from the titles of films such as Alien
and the 1978 version of Superman.
The show wordmark was created in Adobe Illustrator, while all animation and effects were
produced in Adobe After Effects.
Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV
Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV, was an anime based on the video game Final
Fantasy XV, which aired in anticipation of the game's release. The series details the
backstories of the protagonist and his three companions on his journey.
This introduction was created when the series was announced, as a mock concept for what
a title sequence for the show may look like.
Down To The Wire
Down To The Wire was a sports podcast and blog that I ran with fellow sports enthusiast Shawn D'Silva. The branding and accompanying stop motion animation below served as the video introduction to our video podcast episodes which were published on YouTube.
YSDN 2017
During the last year of my undergraduate studies at York University, I was part of the
YSDN 2017 Branding Team. As a Brand Specialist, I collaborated with an incredible group of
classmates to develop an identity for our graduate showcase.
Among the many ideas that were proposed, one of the ones that I pitched revolved around the
concept of building blocks. I explained that our program - and design as a whole - could be
viewed as an array of functional pieces, that each student could pick from to build their
own career path. At the same time, we ourselves could be seen as building blocks of the
program - a diverse group of individuals with varying backgrounds and skills, coming together
in many different ways to learn and produce high-quality design work.
The logo was created in Illustrator, while the motion was designed in After Effects.
