Project Details
Argylle is an action-comedy film with an ensemble
cast that includes Henry Cavill, Dua Lipa, Bryce Dallas
Howard, and Sam Rockwell. In this project I was
primarily tasked with setting up and managing the
lighting and rendering for a chase sequence that
takes place in the Greek town of Ios. The sequence
involved a large CG environment, vehicles,
and digital doubles, as well as various dust and
destruction FX. I worked closely with my team lead,
our CG Supervisor, and VFX Supervisor, to achieve
director Matthew Vaughn’s vision for the sequence,
while ensuring continuity across this complex series
of shots. I also had some additional work lighting
face replacements over stunt doubles for dance and
fight sequences featuring Bryce Dallas Howard and Sam
Rockwell’s characters.
During my time on this project, I served as Sequence Lead, a role in which I supported junior artists, helped prioritize tasks, and contributed to workflow improvements, gaining valuable experience balancing multiple responsibilities under tight deadlines. Lighting for Argylle was carried out in Katana, rendered with Renderman, and composited in Nuke.
